My most favorite album | Comus "First Utterance" and anything by Van Der Graaf Generator plus "Over" by Peter Hammill and "Usher" by Peter Hammill. Also Art Bears' "Winter Songs", and the out-of-print, self-titled Archaia album.
(Some) Favorite Films | I like a lot of different types of films -- from foreign to art films to action and horror and B-movie cult films. Love old Hammer films and like anything with a dark sense of humor. Favorite films also include "Delicatessen", "Bartleby", "Dead Alive", "Lord of the Rings", "Cemetary Man", "Office Space", "Wicker Man" (the original), "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Devil's Backbone." Loved the recent "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood."
Favorite Books | I read everything and usually average 2-3 books in a month. Favorite genres include historical fiction, biographies, sci-fi, and non-fiction books about historical events. (Some) favorite authors include Pearl Buck, Neal Stephenson, J.R.R. Tolkein, Algernon Blackwood, Ambrose Beirce, Poe, Lovecraft, Orhan Pamuk etc etc etc. I am also partial to graphic novels. New favorite book: The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall.
Likes | anything velvet, art, apocalyptic day dreams, Halloween, the smell of oranges & burnt matches, boots, books & movies, sloths and other weird animals, Mid-East & Mediterranean food, thunder storms, Autumn, chocolate (Belgian), unique architecture, antiques, pomegranates, ghost stories, sunflowers & gerber daisies, my cat & my apartment (unfortunately, not haunted, but it does kind of look like it).
Hates | cell phones, trends, "reality" TV, the current state of the government, Philly cockroaches, and Hollywood remakes of perfectly good foreign films or cult classics
